C.J. Miles appears to be the frontrunner in the battle for the starting small forward spot, drawing the start over Norman Powell on Sunday night.
Miles is a better fit on paper as his shooting will stretch the floor out for Toronto’s star backcourt while Powell can play lead dog on the second unit. Things could change if Powell severely outplays Miles over the course of the preseason but both will need to earn their ways onto your standard league rosters. We like both in deeper leagues, however, as Miles is a consistent 3-point presence and Powell has nice sleeper potential.
