California Governor Gavin Newsom has announced that professional sports may resume operations without fans starting in June.

This is good news for the NBA as there are multiple teams in the league call California their home state. That said, the league being a national sport with franchises across many states, there would need to be a broader consensus of loosening of protocols surrounding the protection of the public from the COVID-19 virus. All told, this is still an encouraging step in the right direction that the NBA will be able to resume the 2019-20 season this year.
