In an interview with Erik Horne of The Oklahoman, Cameron Payne has gained 10 pounds of muscle this offseason and he expects to have a larger role for the Thunder in 2016-17.
Payne had surgery on his right foot in July to repair a Jones Fracture. He he has taken off his walking boot earlier this month and is able to do some running and shooting. Payne is progressing well and if he’s not experiencing any setbacks, he should be ready for opening night. He’s still behind Russell Westbrook and Victor Oladipo in terms of the rotation but there’s a possibility he could be the Thunder’s sixth man this upcoming season. Payne has little fantasy value in 12-team leagues, but he’s a worth a look for dynasty or 16-team leagues.
