Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News speculates that Carmelo Anthony could sit out Monday’s game– the second half of a back-to-back- against the Magic.
Here we go. Melo is often a shutdown risk on some awful Knicks teams, and we could be approaching some missed time for the star. With the Knicks looking extremely unlikely to push for the playoffs and the team’s brass split on Anthony’s future in New York, they might use kid gloves and keep him healthy so as not to damage his trade value. There could be more of these coming as the season winds down, so brace yourselves. There isn’t a ton to like in New York’s scrap heap, though less Anthony could open up minutes at the four for Kyle O’Quinn and Willy Hernangomez.
