Following a fourth quarter benching of Derrick Rose, Chasson Randle helped the Knicks take down the Magic Monday night with a late rally, possibly earning himself more minutes as the season winds down.
In only his second game as a Knick, Randle came off the bench to score seven points, grab five boards and dish out five assists. Coach Jeff Hornacek likes what he sees in Randle, “He just knows how to play. He does the little things. I can’t say enough for a guy who hasn’t played yet and then all of a sudden gets in there.” Hornacek said he views Randle as more of a typical point guard than Ron Baker, who started on Monday night alongside Derrick Rose and Courtney Lee in what amounted to a three-guard starting lineup. Carmelo Anthony sat out with a knee injury. Keep an eye on Randle, he could be due more minutes as the Knicks focus on developing their young players.
