According to Mike D’Antoni, Clint Capela (left knee) is not expected to play on Tuesday vs. the Spurs.
Capela is apparently in “a lot of pain” and may have an MRI on his left knee. Owners should be concerned about this news but we’ll have to wait for an update to know more about his status. Nene Hilario will likely start in place of Capela on Tuesday but isn’t a very appealing fantasy pickup.
Update: Capela is out for Tuesday’s game but beat writer Hunter Atkins says the injury is minor so that’s pretty good news. If the Rockets lose any of their frontcourt depth they’ll be in a world of hurt.
Update: As we were concerned about Capela will apparently be out a while and beat writer Jonathan Feigen retweeted the report and appears to be on board with the reporting. Montrezl Harrell is a wild card but he’s worth a look as a speculative add and Nene might have some short-term value if he can get on the floor. Mostly, look for this team to play small and the more likely late-round value might even be Sam Dekker or Corey Brewer.
Update II: Broken fibula. Ouch.
Update III: Woj on the Rockets’ thoughts and timetables. No new news here.
Sources: Rockets still waiting for final medical intel on Capela leg injury, but bracing to be without him for 4-to-6 weeks.
