The Knicks history books will now include Courtney Lee and his 48 straight made free throws, as he went 4-of-4 from the stripe on a night where he also chipped in 18 points, two threes and a steal.
Lee is leading the NBA in free throw percentage at over 96 percent. He doesn’t take many, but it’s certainly a nice boost in that category. This one will be remembered for another ugly end-of-game sequence in which he was called for a pretty weak technical with the Knicks down three in the closing seconds. The refs let a initial push get away before bringing out the whistle for his repeated commentary. Lee was pretty upset with the officials and continued to talk after the buzzer but should be able to avoid suspension. He’s been a great middle-round option this season so keep him locked into all lineups.
