DeMarcus Cousins scored 28 points on 9-of-25 shooting with 12 rebounds, six assists, three steals and one block in the Kings’ 103-100 loss to the Knicks on Friday.
The Kings are spotting the opposition 5-10 points per night based on avoidable lineup and rotation decisions, and if they ever executed in a reasonably sound manner they’d be tearing through a lot of teams. But there are the Kangz and they just can’t quit that stuff. Cousins got a tech and that makes eight on the year, and Rudy Gay was terrible with 13 points, five boards and a much worse night in reality land. Darren Collison (14 points, three boards, three assists) needs to play more and needs the ball more but that’s too confusing, and the easiest playing time decision of all — Garrett Temple — continues to be limited.
