D'Angelo Russell finished Friday's win with eight points, three rebounds, nine assists, a 3-pointer and a 3-for-12 shooting line in 29 minutes of action.
Russell was outplayed by Spencer Dinwiddie once again, and now that the latter has committed to the Nets for at least two seasons it'll be interesting to watch how this battle plays out the rest of the way. D'Lo almost certainly wants to be paid more than Dinwiddie (three years, $34 million) given his draft pedigree but that's going to be a very tough case to make. Headed to restricted free agency, it's possible that Russell is now auditioning for 29 other teams with Brooklyn securing Dinwiddie. Russell's been strong overall this season and is outplaying his ADP, so hopefully these off-court things don't mess with him much.
