It was a mixed bag for D’Angelo Russell on Friday as he scored 17 points on 8-of-16 shooting with six assists and three steals while also committing an unsightly eight turnovers.
You take the good with the bad with Russell, who will have some growing pains as the unquestioned best player on a rebuilding squad. It’s been a pretty strong start to his Brooklyn career, tonight’s gaudy turnover total excepted. He should be a solid middle-round value with unfettered access to shots and playmaking responsibility.
