Dante Cunningham has agreed to a one-year 2.3 million dollar deal with the Pelicans.
This move makes sense for Cunningham as he will get immediate playing time for a team devoid of a small forward after Solomon Hill (hamstring) was ruled out for 6-8 months. The 30-year old will likely start over NBA journeyman Darius Miller who last played an NBA game in 2013. Cunningham posted top-180 value playing 24 minutes per game last season for the Pelicans. This is probably what we can expect going forward as the Pelicans plan on using Jordan Crawford and E’Twaun Moore at the three as well.
