David Fizdale said on Friday that he's not afraid to start Kevin Knox at small forward.
Fizdale asked who else could start at small forward for the Knicks and seemed to reject the notion that a combo of Tim Hardaway Jr. and Courtney Lee would be big enough to get the job done on the wings. The only other options currently on the roster are Damyean Dotson (undersized) and Lance Thomas (a little too slow), so it could very well be Knox holding things down by opening night. That move would give him a shot at late-round value in standard leagues, so keep checking in for updates on the situation throughout the summer. Fizdale also said he wouldn't have been afraid to start Frank Ntilikina last season. That could bode well for the young Frenchman as the Knicks don't have a ton of imposing characters on the point guard depth chart.
