With the NBA releasing the schedule on Wednesday, fourth-year guard Terry Rozier has until October 15 to sign an extension with the Celtics.
The NBA season officially starts October 16 which sets the deadline for fourth-year players to sign an extension on October 15. Rozier will be a leading candidate for this news as the Celtics have to decide if, and how much, they want to pay him. Rozier is coming off a career year in which he helped the Celtics reach Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals. Kyrie Irving is back but is playing on an expiring contract and the Celtics will be paying Marcus Smart $52 million over the next four years. If a player does sign an extension before this date their salary remains unchanged for 2018-19 and the new contract kicks in for the 2019-2020 season.
