DeAndre Bembry (triceps) told reporters he is ahead of schedule and plans to be ready by the start of the regular season.
Bembry strained his triceps on September 13th and was given a 4-6 week timetable. “It’s actually getting better way faster than I thought it was going to be. I’m definitely looking forward to being back before the season actually starts.” The 23-year-old is currently behind Dennis Schroder on the depth chart and he could also challenge Kent Bazemore for minutes if Bazemore can’t be consistent. The 21st overall pick played just 10 mpg last season, but that should double with the Hawks in rebuild mode and wanting to see what they have in the second year player.
