Dejounte Murray finished with nine points, seven assists, two boards and five steals on 2-of-7 from the field in Monday’s series clinching loss to the Warriors in Game 4.
Murray didn’t start but saw the most minutes at point guard. The game was decided from the beginning so the bench guys saw more minutes especially towards the end. Despite Tony Parker (ruptured quadriceps tendon) going down Murray’s minutes were still inconsistent throughout the series presumably because he is just a rookie. Parker still has one year left on his deal and will have ample time to come back from his injury. However, with the veteran’s rapid decline over the last couple of years it could be time for Murray to shine next season. Keep an eye on him as a potential sleeper.
