DeMar DeRozan posted 19 points, two assists, seven boards on 7-of-16 from the field and 5-of-5 from the line in Monday’s Game 1 loss to the Cavs.
The Cavs strategy against DeRozan worked to perfection as they doubled him off screens forcing him to give up the ball. He has never been a skilled passer so Raptors were unable to capitalize off of the open man. His -32 plus/minus was 11 less than the next closest player. Coach Dwane Casey will need to find a way to counter this strategy in order to get the veteran shooting guard going along with the rest of the offense.
