DeMar DeRozan scored a game-high 29 points in Saturday’s 102-86 victory over the Sixers, shooting 9-of-20 from the field, 4-of-7 from deep and 7-of-8 from the line to go with five rebounds, two assists and a steal.
DeRozan was stepping into his threes with confidence and has now poured in 13 triples over his last three games after going 1-for-18 from distance immediately preceding this hot streak. They say threes are high variance, but this is a little ridiculous. Consider it an early present from DeRozan, whose 3-point volume simply won’t stay this high. The lack of a 3-point shot won’t prevent him from solid top-40 returns, and he was pretty tough to stop again tonight. Expect more of the same for the rest of the season.
