DeMarre Carroll gets DNP-CD vs. Knicks

DeMarre Carroll received a DNP-CD in Wednesday's season-opener.

This comes as quite the surprise because Carroll fits the versatile 3-and-D role that the Spurs could certainly use. Needless to say, he's not on the fantasy radar. He should be playing soon but Carroll apparently has a while before he gets serious playing time.

Tyler Herro

Tyler Herro saw 29 minutes as the Heat's sixth man in Friday's loss to the Celtics, netting 14 points (6-for-12 FG) and grabbing three boards.

Herro put up 37 points on Wednesday – a career-high – and there were rumblings that he might be inserted into the starting lineup over veteran Jae Crowder. Herro did not start on Friday, however, and actually saw his fewest minutes in a game in the series thus far. He went 2-for-5 from downtown, a far cry from his output on Wednesday (5-for-10 3PT). Crowder has been abysmal shooting the ball lately so there's a chance Herro is in the starting lineup for Game 6. Keep an eye out for that.

Goran Dragic

Goran Dragic logged 39 minutes on Friday vs. the Celtics, fouling out after posting 23 points (8-of-17 FG), four rebounds and four assists.

The Heat were just a bit off on Friday and could not find the bottom of the net from long range, going a paltry 7-for-36 from deep as a team. Dragic himself was 3-for-9 on 3-pointers, which isn't bad considering his season average was 36.7%. The Heat will need more production from their catalysts if they hope to finish off the Celtics on Sunday.

Duncan Robinson
F, Miami Heat

Duncan Robinson contributed early in Game 5 on Friday vs. the Celtics, scoring seven points in the first quarter (20 overall) with two rebounds in the loss.

Robinson finally took some shots other than 3-point attempts in Friday's defeat, making two layups in the early moments of the game. His 20 points were the most he has scored in the series, but the Heat still came up short. They needed more on the offensive end from Jimmy Butler (17 points) and Bam Adebayo (13 points). Robinson will look to build on this effort on Sunday in Game 6.

Marcus Smart

Marcus Smart was a solid performer for the Celtics in Friday's Game 5 win over the Heat, working hard on both ends to finish the night with 12 points (3-of-9 FG, 4-of-4 FT), eight rebounds, eight assists, two 3s and four steals.

Smart continues to play the part of quintessential role-player for the Celtics and it has been paying off in a big way. The fiesty defender has been able to contribute in a plethora of ways and will need to keep on doing so, if the Celtics are to keep their NBA Championship dreams alive in Game 6. His partner in the backcourt, Kemba Walker, played just 28 minutes and was good for 15 points (4-of-11 shooting), three treys, two rebounds, seven dimes and one steal.

Bam Adebayo
C, Miami Heat

Bam Adebayo scored just 13 points (5-of-11 FG) in the Heat's Game 5 loss on Friday, adding in eight rebounds and eight assists.

The Heat just didn't get enough scoring from their primary producers on Friday evening and Tyler Herro did not have nearly the game that he had in Game 4. The Heat had a significant lead after one quarter and were up at halftime but the Celtics poured it on in the second half, led by third-year forward Jayson Tatum. Adebayo, for his part, played 38 minutes and shot the ball just 11 times. That simply is not a good recipe for success and indicates the Heat had trouble getting the ball inside, as Adebayo has a primitive jump shot. The Heat will look to rebound and capitalize on their next opportunity to close out the Celtics.
