The woeful Hawks got a throwback shooting performance from Dennis Schroder in Wednesday’s loss, as their point guard went 4-of-15 from the floor en route to eight points, three rebounds, eight assists and two steals in 32 minutes.
Schroder will toss one of these performances out from time to time but he’s at the same .451 level he was at last year despite an increase in volume, so it’s not that bad. He also committed just one turnover tonight and has done a great job of dropping them from 3.3 per game last year to 2.6 this season, again despite more work. It’s got him just outside the top-60 on the year in 9-cat, and so long as he keeps working on the blemishes of his game he’ll be a strong play among fantasy’s second tier point guards. Keep rolling him out there, as he’s exceeded expectations to this point. His backups, Malcolm Delaney and Isaiah Taylor, aren’t real threats — even on his bad nights.
