• Dennis Smith Jr.
    PG, Dallas Mavericks

Dennis Smith Jr. will not play on Tuesday night after rolling his ankle in Sunday's game.

Smith's rookie season will end on a disappointing note, though it's nothing too new for fantasy owners considering he played in 69 games this year. The divide between his 8- and 9-cat value was evident, as DSJ was a top-150 per-game guy with turnovers omitted but plummets outside of the top-230 when you account for his 2.8 turnovers per game. On the full season, his splits sit at top-145/210. Smith cost most owners a middle-round pick this year but shot an ugly .395 on 14.8 attempts per game and was only .694 from the charity stripe. It's hard for anyone to outscore those problems, let alone a rookie adjusting to NBA basketball. There are real stat set concerns here but Smith's ample playing time this season will serve him well in the long run.
