Dennis Smith Jr. had another poor showing in Saturday’s loss, scoring six points (2-of-8 shooting) and collecting one rebound, three assists and a steal in 22 minutes of action against the Hawks.
Simply put, Smith has played his way off of fantasy rosters in most leagues. He’s well outside the top-200 and it’s almost impossible to work around his ugly .395 shooting on 14.1 attempts per game. Smith, like many rookies, was a victim of the hype machine and was horrendously overdrafted. While nobody was expecting these lowly returns, anything further than late-middle round value was always going to be a stretch. Stick him on the bench if you’re insistent on holding on.
