Denzel Valentine will undergo arthroscopic debridement on his left knee Wednesday and will miss the remainder of the season.
The key word here is "arthroscopic" which means the surgery will not be overly invasive and Valentine will recover long before the beginning of the 2018-2019 season. The second-year pro made big improvements from his rookie season and was rewarded with 10 more minutes per game. The biggest deterrent to the 24-year-old making another leap next year is Justin Holiday who will be under contract for one more season and is the starting small forward when the Bulls are actually trying. If the Bulls trade him then Valentine could slot in to be a starter or at the very least will be the do-it-all sixth man who could push for 30-plus minutes a game.
