Deron Williams played 33 minutes in a loss to the Wolves on Monday, finishing with 11 points on 5-of-9 shooting, one 3-pointer, two rebounds, seven assists, one steal and three turnovers.
This may be a welcome sight for some of Williams’s owners and as sad as that sounds, he’s been just that bad. Despite shooting 44.4% from the field and 1.6 treys per game, he’s been outside of the top-225 in his last seven games. The ugly side of his averages include 0.6 steals and 3.6 turnovers per game, while shooting 75.7% from the stripe. He should eventually turn it around sooner rather than later, but he doesn’t have the best rest-of-season outlook. We wouldn’t judge you if you dropped him for someone promising on the wire, but his assists could be hard to replace.
