Derrick Williams started for injured Kristaps Porzingis (leg) in the Knicks’ 102-89 win over the Pistons on Saturday, scoring 10 points on 3-of-8 shooting with three rebounds and one steal in 19 minutes.
Williams was not able to take advantage of Porzingis’ absence and that’s not really surprising. Kyle O’Quinn was better with 10 points, four rebounds and three blocks in 16 minutes, but he could be buried in the rotation at any time. Porzingis is day-to-day and hopefully Kurt Rambis gets the memo that will set him free soon.
