Interim coach Jay Triano said on Tuesday that he might have to play Mike James and Tyler Ulis off the ball more to help get their offense going.
This would mean more minutes for Devin Booker as the primary facilitator. Tyler Ulis and Mike James were a combined 3-for-17 in Phoenix’s 100-93 loss to the Lakers on Monday. Triano said that both point guards haven’t been as confident shooting the ball recently. Ulis referenced this last week when he said he has been hesitant because his shot isn’t falling. Even though Triano doesn’t want to put too much on Booker’s plate he might be forced to do so. The young shooting guard has been returning top-50 value this season while averaging a career high 3.9 assists per game and his outlook for the rest of the season looks great with Eric Bledsoe not in Arizona anymore.
