Dewayne Dedmon injured his ankle (alvusion fracture) during a workout on August 27th and is currently in a walking boot.
An avulsion fracture occurs when a tendon or ligament is pulled off the bone. Dedmon has been put in a walking boot and will be re-evaluated in one week. The 28-year-old had a career year in 2017-2018 posting 10.0 points, 7.9 boards and 0.8 blocks per game. He is currently listed as the starting center and can be a sneaky pick late in your draft. If you do take the 7 footer, try and trade him by mid-season while the minutes are there since the rebuilding Hawks could deal the veteran (expiring contract) or give playing time to younger players.
