Dirk Nowitzki is sitting out Tuesday's season finale as he recovers from ankle surgery but will return next season for his 21st year in the NBA.
It's not a major procedure, and it was the only real source of absences from Nowitzki in his age-39 season. He played in a stunning 77 games and while the flash is gone from his game, Dirk turned in top-105 numbers in 8-cat leagues and was even better in 9-cat, finishing as the 71st ranked player on a per-game basis. All those games put him in the top-75/55 in terms of total value. Nowitzki will never be an early-round producer again and has minimal upside, but can still do enough with points, threes, rebounds and blocks on strong percentages to hold his own as a glue guy on fantasy rosters.
