Dragan Bender finally picked up the pace on Saturday, scoring 16 points and collecting three rebounds, one steal, one block and three triples in 32 minutes against the Hornets.
Bender has averaged 33.2 minutes per game over his last five but had scored zero, six, six and three points in the four games leading up to this outing. Even worse, he had taken just one, eight, four and four shots in those games. It was looking like more of the same today with only one attempt in his first 15 minutes but Bender finally got his work in on offense. Whether that has to do with the team’s erratic ball movement or his own lack of aggression, hopefully it’s a thing of the past. Bender clearly has multi-cat potential and makes for a nice add in 14-team formats. Standard league value isn’t out of the question but his recent run of duds means he’s got to build up some good will.
