Dennis Smith played 27 minutes of largely ineffective basketball on Friday night, shooting 2-of-7 to produce six points on a pair of triples while adding seven assists.
Smith’s calling card was supposed to be his scoring, but it was the playmaking that moved the needle for fantasy owners tonight. This was a nice night in that department considering his annual average of 4.1 dimes per game, but there’s just a lot here to fix for Smith to become a viable standard league play. While the production and injury headaches have been deserving of a drop, his upside and ADP have probably kept him from many waiver wires. If you’re a DSJ owner you pretty much have to bench him until he gets into a groove.
