Duncan Robinson, who is currently on a two-way contract with the Heat after going undrafted, has chosen to remain in Miami instead of attending a Team USA mini-camp ahead of the World Cup qualifiers.
The qualifying team for the basketball World Cup is comprised of G-League players for the most part and is coached by Jeff Van Gundy. Robinson chose to stick it out with the Heat as the team has an open roster spot and Robinson wants to secure an NBA contract instead of a two-way deal. Robinson highlighted the growth he's felt working with the Heat's training staff "It's one of the first things you notice in terms of the day to day, how much goes into the strength and conditioning aspect. They do such a good job. This is week three or four for me and it’s impossible to ignore. That's another big reason why I feel like I'm in a good spot, in that my body has a long ways to go, get strong and just get into world-class shape."
