Dwight Howard has returned to Washington to receive a pain injection after suffering a setback in his recovery from back soreness.
Howard has managed to stay pretty healthy over the last two seasons but the back issues that plagued him earlier appear to have popped up again. Howard also saw a specialist in New York after he experienced discomfort on Sunday after a no-contact workout on Saturday. This puts his status for opening night in question, as despite Howard's claim that he'll only need two or three practices before he can play, the Wizards will play things more cautiously. Ian Mahinmi is now on the board as a last-round pick who can help with rebounds, steals and blocks in the short-term and possibly longer.
