Dwight Powell was limited to just nine minutes on Tuesday night as the Mavs looked at other frontcourt players, posting seven points and two rebounds on 1-of-1 from deep (a 3-pointer) and 4-of-4 from the line.
Powell made the most of his minutes but it’s a concerning development for sure. He’s been turning in top-100 numbers over the last two weeks and has flourished in the second half, providing a massive boost to field goal percentages while picking up rebounds by the handful. Nerlens Noel played 20 minutes tonight with two points, six rebounds and two steals while Jameel Warney made his second appearance with the Mavs and posted eight points and three rebounds in 12 minutes. Powell should be held for now but this definitely sounds some alarms about his rest-of-season outlook.
