Dwyane Wade has been ruled out for the season with a small fracture in his elbow revealed on an MRI.
Welp, with that Wade’s first season with his hometown Bulls comes to a close. Look for Jimmy Butler to be a usage monster as the season winds down but be wary as he is a shutdown candidate. Rajon Rondo should be owned in all leagues and will clearly benefit with a clear path to consistent minutes with Denzel Valentine looking like an interesting add in deep leagues.
The Bulls are a mess and need to rebuild so we may see D-Wade in another uniform next season, likely in a smaller role on a contender. He is in decline as an NBA player as well as a fantasy asset and finishes the season with the worst shooting percentage of his career and the lowest scoring average since his rookie season. We wouldn’t be surprised if his buddy on the Cavs comes a calling this summer. His days as a useful fantasy asset are likely over so let Wade be someone else’s problem in next year’s fantasy drafts.
