Joel Embiid picked up where he left off last season, getting 20 points (1-for-3 from distance), 13 rebounds, two blocks and a steal in Friday’s easy 104-84 win over Melbourne United.
He did his damage (and picked up three turnovers) in 23 minutes and will look to continue his dominance assuming he stays healthy. Ben Simmons missed a triple-double by two points, notching 10 boards, 16 assists, eight points (4-of-12 from the field), three steals, a block and four turnovers in a team-leading 26 minutes. Of note, he didn’t attempt a three so we didn’t get a chance to see how his outside shot is developing.
