Emmanuel Mudiay is regressing as the new starting point guard but Jeff Hornacek is not ready to bag this audition yet.
Hornacek will continue to keep rookie Frank Ntilikina and Trey Burke coming off the bench, but the Knicks’ coach added that has no bearing on next season’s starting point guard situation. Mudiay was brutal in Sunday’s loss to the Kings where he got benched for the game’s final 20 minutes after he went scoreless, missing all six of his shots. He is now shooting 35.4 percent from the field and 13.6 percent from deep in eight games with the Knicks and owners should probably move on to a better option, if available, especially since Mudiay is known for being a streaky shooter.
