Enes Kanter said that coach David Fizdale informed him on Sunday that his playing time would be at a premium for the remainder of the season because the team is prioritizing the development of Luke Kornet, Mitchell Robinson and Noah Vonleh.
Kanter still logged 19 minutes on Monday because Luke Kornet sprained his ankle and Mitchell Robinson fouled out after only 16 minutes. The Knicks have been trying to deal Kanter all season long but the market has not been robust and if he is not traded by the deadline he is a top buyout candidate along with teammate Courtney Lee. It’s unclear what happens next but the Turkish center is still a hold and owners can only hope he gets moved or bought out soon.
