Enes Kanter was very quiet in only 16 minutes of court time in Sunday’s loss to the Rockets, finishing with eight points and three boards on 3-of-7 shooting.
The fear with Kanter in this series is that he’s just too slow and defensively challenged to contend with Houston. For one night, at least, that played out quite evidently, with amateur lip readers on Twitter catching Billy Donovan allegedly saying that he couldn’t play Kanter after an alley-oop to Clint Capela. The blowout certainly didn’t help matters, but Kanter’s playing time will be worth monitoring very closely. Owners who took the plunge with him in playoff leagues might have to hope that OKC escapes round one so he can return some value.
