Eric Gordon shot just 5-of-16 from the floor in the Rockets’ Game 2 loss to the Jazz, finishing with 15 points, six rebounds, one assist, two blocks, one steal and three 3-pointers on Wednesday night.
Overall, Gordon’s shot wasn’t on, shooting just 31 percent. He did add 3-of-6 from deep, quite a bit better than his teammates. The Rockets need their 3-point shooting to show up in this series and it failed miserably in Game 2. Trevor Ariza, P.J. Tucker, Gerald Green, Luc Mbah a Moute and Ryan Anderson combined for just 3-of-16 on triples in the loss. Gordon will typically attempt and make the highest volume but Houston needs more than just one helping hand in the 3-pointer department. Utah’s perimeter defense showed up in spades on Wednesday night and now the Rockets have to find a way to steal one in Salt Lake City.
