The Hornets kept the minutes pretty even between Dwight Howard (23), Cody Zeller (19) and Frank Kaminsky (21) in Monday’s loss to the Celtics.
All three players are viable candidates to play minutes at center this season and they did little to differentiate themselves tonight. Howard got the start and finished with seven points, 10 rebounds and three blocks but also shot 3-of-8 from the free throw line and committed six turnovers. Zeller scored seven points but was quiet otherwise while Kaminsky chipped in seven points, four rebounds and an ugly five turnovers. If the Hornets insist on using Frank the Tank as a small five for big stretches it’s going to be a tight squeeze for fantasy value all year long. Zeller is our favorite target of the bunch but all will be hard pressed to get out of late-round valuations.
