Frank Ntilikina mercifully played 37 minutes on Friday night, scoring 13 points to go with five rebounds, three assists, two triples and a steal.
Finally. The Knicks have reportedly abandoned Ntilikina as the point guard of the future and now view him as a shooting guard. It’s been torturous to watch him come in for minutes in the high teens while the Knicks waste time with Emmanuel Mudiay and Trey Burke, but perhaps this is the organization turning over a new leaf. He’s still only a deep league target for now but he most definitely made the most of his opportunity tonight. Watch out for his workload going forward, as he has the defensive chops to make a difference in the season’s final weeks.
