Fred VanVleet will fly to New York to meet with a specialist for his shoulder injury.
VanVleet told reporters that the shoulder injury that sidelined him for most of the first round was much worse than he let on. The 24-year-old was a strong contributor for the Raptors all season long leading one of the best benches in the NBA. He is a restricted free agent this summer and the point guard is talented enough to start for a number of teams so he will garner plenty of interest. The Raptors will have a tough time holding onto him considering their current deal with Lowry making $31 and $33 million over the next two years. VanVleet could become a sleeper fantasy draft pick next season if the Raptors don't match and he signs with a team where he plays 30 minutes a game.
