The plan for Goran Dragic (foot) was to try to play in Saturday's game against the Hawks, but the Heat decided to hold him back and are hopeful that he can play on Monday against the Pistons.
"He was going to," said Erik Spoelstra "But it just still was tender. We looked at him and told him to sit it out. Jay [Sabol, the Heat trainer] and I made the decision, 'Let's give it another day or two." It sounds like the discomfort is being caused by a cortisone injection he received at the location of the injection, which is more explainable in relation to some foot injury reports we come across. The Heat will obviously shift some of their logjams toward his vacated minutes and the guards will benefit first, then the rest of the group.
