Gordon Hayward produced 25 points, three assists, five boards, two steals on 8-of-21 from the field, 4-of-7 from deep and 5-of-6 from the line in Monday’s 95-121 loss to the Warriors.
Hayward was also had a team leading plus/minus of -32. Don’t read too much into that as he wanted to stay on the court as much as possible and he did playing 39 minutes. He did shoot poorly however and shot just 40 percent for the series. The big story here is that the All-Star can be a free agent this offseason. The 27-year-old has a player option for 16 million and will likely opt-out for a max contract. The Jazz can offer the most money and years on a new deal, but there will be plenty of suitors pining for the former Baylor star.
Jazz fans chanting "Gordon Hayward…" in hopes of keeping expected free agent to be. SLC billboard coming up soon too that says "STAYWARD."
