Greg Monroe is headed to the Raptors on a one-year deal worth $2.2 million.
Monroe will slot in as the team's backup center, though Toronto will also make sure that Serge Ibaka and possibly Pascal Siakam see time at the five in reserve groups. The veteran will give the Raptors some scoring punch and help out a second unit that had issues with rebounding last year. His lack of speed makes him tough to use in the postseason beyond specific matchups but he'll have a regular role in the rotation unlike last season and his passing out of the post is a nice fit in Nick Nurse's offense. If Monroe gets 20 mpg he should be able to hold late-round fantasy value. It's not a guarantee that he gets it, though.
