• Hassan Whiteside
    C, Miami Heat

Hassan Whiteside had a big game in his first preseason contest of the year, going 8-of-10 from the field for 20 points to go with 13 rebounds, two steals and two blocks and a 3-pointer in just 23 minutes.

Whiteside, like everyone else, said he's been working on the deep ball this summer. It certainly seems like the Heat will let him take open looks for now and as long as he keeps it in check we might see him launch threes somewhat regularly. The more important thing here is that Whiteside stays healthy, as injuries opened the door for Miami's frontcourt alternatives to cement themselves in the rotation. Whiteside's ADP is falling after last season's poor showing but he's going to be an elite shot-blocker and can't be ignored in the middle-rounds. This is about as good a start as you could hope for.
