Isaiah Thomas (hip) is undecided on how to proceed with recovering on his injury with surgery an option.
“We don’t know if he needs surgery or what kind of surgery, or if that is a choice. We’ll wait until the hip calms down, do more tests and get more opinions,” said Danny Ainge. Thomas is on the sidelines while the team he led to the top seed in the East plays in a do-or-die Game 5 vs. the Cavs on Thursday. With the Celtics sitting on the top pick in the draft full of young point guards, Thomas’ future on the Celtics is in question and this injury further clouds matters. He should be recovered in time for the start of next season of what should be a pivotal one for his career as he will be an unrestricted FA in the summer of 2018.
