• On Monday, the Nets assigned Isaiah Whitehead to their G-League Long Island club and recalled him a few hours later, per Brian Lewis of the New York Post.

Even after starting guard Jeremy Lin suffered a season-ending ruptured patella tendon, Whitehead hasn’t gotten a single second of action through the Nets’ first three games. He’s actually been inactive for all of them and the Nets want to get the Coney Island native some much needed practice time. Whitehead was third on the team in games played last season (73) and fifth in minutes logged (1,643) but the Nets backcourt is loaded and it will be hard for him to get any playing time soon.
