• J.J. Barea shot 8-for-16 from the field for 17 points with four assists, one rebound and one three in 33 minutes on Monday in the Mavs 93-77 loss to the Knicks.

Starting for the injured Deron Williams (left calf strain), Barea played his pesky role of scoring and creating on the floor, albeit in a bad loss for the Mavs. He is a decent source for points in assists and should be owned in standard formats. With the Mavs off to a rough start this season, Barea could be in line for big minutes all season as they won’t force prized veterans like DWill, Wes Matthews (eight points, five boards, two steals, two 3-pointers Monday) and Dirk to play down the stretch if they are ailing.
