Jae Crowder dropped 16 points in Tuesday’s loss to the Bulls, adding three rebounds, four assists and two 3-pointers.
This would normally be a nice stat line for Crowder, but his popcorn number belie his defensive struggles in this one. Despite being accurately billed as a stopper on the wing, Crowder could not stay in front of Jimmy Butler tonight. Butler repeatedly blew by Crowder for kick out assists or easy looks at the cup. He’s a solid player, but he can’t jump start the offense when Boston’s stars struggle and he’ll need to adjust defensively in Game 3 on Friday.
