Jahlil Okafor scored 10 points to go with six rebounds and two turnovers in Saturday’s loss to the Raptors.
Okafor played his first minutes of the season largely due to the fact that Joel Embiid was resting on the second night of a back to back and was mostly inefficient in his debut. Although he shot 4-for-6 from the field, whenever he touched the ball the offense came to a halt. The Sixers usually move and swing the ball quickly to get open looks, but the game is totally different when Okafor plays. He also tallied three fouls in a three minute span as he was flat footed on help defense, constantly sending DeMar Derozan to the line. It isn’t hard to see why Coach Brett Brown gave him DNPs to start the year and it won’t be long before Richaun Holmes is back. Okafor can be safely left on the wire.
